You can’t do it with diet alone. All the belly fat fads in the world won’t cut it. You have to get physical.
After an epiphany where I realized that it was just foolish to take pills and potions to heal health problems when my body was dumpy and sluggish, I knew I had to get moving again. I started mall-walking. Later, I started working out at a gym, and that progressed to a combination of walking and running.
I don’t need a doctor to tell me my body is younger… my BODY is telling me. How?
- Blood pressure went from 188/120 on meds to 108/68 off of meds.
- Resting heart rate went from high 80’s to 68!!
- Weight went from 165 to 153.
- Percent body fat dropped several percentage points.
- Every place where you can measure in inches has dropped noticeably, especially waist, hips, and thighs. The pooch is ALL BUT GONE.
- I sleep better, have virtually eliminated waking up in the middle of the night.
- I LOOK fit and trim and healthy and HAPPY!
I read today that a post-menopausal woman who exercises three times a week has the bone-density of a woman 15-20 years younger. I also read that people can drop their cholesterol through exercise, and that exercise helps prevent or alleviate diabetes.
I can’t tell you all the journey that got me to this point, but I can tell you this. When my trainer runs out of the gym to tell me that all the other trainers were just commenting on how GREAT I look… woo hoo, that does it for me!
P.S. YES, I still take pills and potions, they get a lot of credit. But pouring them into a slow-moe 50-something body would be like pouring high octane into a broken down 68 Camaro. I had to do a little body work and get some parts moving again in order for that fuel to do any good
