Don’t use MonaVie for animals, your pets, dogs and cats

It is not prudent to use MonaVie for your pets.  It may be safe or it may not be, but there are proven natural remedies designed for your dogs and cats, it’s best to use those instead of a made-for-humans product.

I happen to be a huge fan of MonaVie, having used it for over two years. I am also an animal rescuer who runs a blog on safe pet foods and safe natural remedies for animals.

Many of you are searching on “MonaVie and dogs” and “is MonaVie safe for pets”.  You are probably taking MonaVie, love it, and hope it will do the same for your pets, especially if your pets are elderly and have joint or arthritis or other health problems.

MonaVie contains grape juice which in one study was shown to be toxic in large doses for dogs. Dogs and cats don’t eat these fruits in nature and since there are 19 fruits in MonaVie, you just don’t want to take a chance. We don’t know what could be bad for them.

There are far better natural remedies for your pets. Glucosamine, which is the natural ingredient in MonaVie Active that gives so much relief from joint pain and is used to treat arthritis in humans, is exceptionally effective in dogs and cats, as in, overnight!  HealthyPetNet has a very effective glucosamine supplement specifically made for dogs called Agility. It’s also in the HealthyPetNet cat Immune and Body Support.

Transfer Factor, available from a place called 4Life, has veterinary formulations for dogs, cats, and even horses and cows.  It’s hugely, hugely effective, especially for low immune and hyper immune and very sick animals.  If I were a vet, I’d keep in in my clinic and use it on any chronically sick animal, especially for viral infections.

Fish oil is another tremendously effective natural remedy, both in humans and in dogs and cats. I could completely fill this blog with stories of the benefits of fish oil. Use it especially if your pet has an inflammatory disease such as arthritis, diabetes, thyroid, liver, kidney, and other problems. I know of humans who within their first week on fish oil were able to eliminate their daily insulin dosages and of cat and dog owners whose pets’ kidney disease improved substantially.

The dosage is:

Large dogs – Full human dose

Medium dogs – 1/2 human dose

Small dogs and cats – 1/4 human dose

Get the liquid fish oil rather than capsules, it’s just less mess and less waste. Don’t put it directly in their mouths or on their food. Rather, put it on a plate and let them lick it up or put a little bit on their front paws and let them lick it off. You don’t want to risk having them inhale an oily substance into their lungs.

And by the way, the very first thing you should do if you’re looking for natural remedies for your pets is to check their pet food. Why are we paying $35 a bottle for MonaVie to pour into our pet’s foods if we’re feeding them inferior ingredients like corn, wheat, and by-products?  Many people see noticeable improvements in their pets skin and coat and energy and overall health within a week of switching them off of a corn or wheat-based food and onto a holistic, all natural food like HealthyPetNet

P.S. If you have pets with epilepsy or seizures, run, do not walk, to get a premium holistic pet food that does not contain corn or wheat! Many times, the epilepsy is actually a manifestation of a corn or wheat food allergy.

Here are some of the comments I’ve seen from people who use fish oil and the Agility glucosamine supplements:

Immediately after surgery, Joey (a three-year-old standard poodle) was put on Rimadyl and that worried me because I know the dangers of Rimadyl. I believe you have to use drugs like this sometimes, but still, the side effects can be killers. Immediately after the surgery and along with the Rimadyl I got Joey on Agility and SeaLogix Omega 3 Fish Oil. I gave him 2 tablets a day of the Agility and 1 teaspoon of SeaLogix Fish Oil. Joey weighs about 55 pounds. About a week later I stopped the Rimadyl. I’ve had surgery and usually a week afterwards, the initial pain has subsided. Yes, there’s still pain, but not nearly like when you first come out of the operating room and that’s how I treated Joey. Within a week after getting him on the Agility and Fish Oil he was using his leg. A little weight on it, then a lot. He continued to use the leg, putting more weight on it over the weeks. He even broke away from me once and took off after the other dogs and he was running! USING ALL 4 LEGS!

I can’t attribute his healing to anything else other than love (lots and lots of it!), Agility and SeaLogix Fish Oil. The vet has done this operation many, many times over the years and Joey was definitely the one that healed the fastest.

Another one:

I had another instance here on Friday where my oldest Standard Poodle, Noodle, got hurt. He was wrestling around with our newest baby, Harley, and the next thing I know, he couldn’t walk. On Saturday morning, I practically had to help him up and it looked like we might have to go to an orthopedist. I did exactly what I did for Joey 2 months ago after he tore his ACL and gave Noodle the SeaLogix Fish Oil. He already is on Agility and has been for almost 8 years. I gave him 1 teaspoon of the liquid SeaLogix because he weights about 75 pounds.

Well, today he so much better!!! I am still keeping him quiet and resting, but it looks to me like he’s walking better and the limp is considerably less!! I can tell you this… all of my dogs are now going to stay on the SeaLogix along with the Agility, Skin and Coat Formula (which has Omega 3 in it, too) and their Daily Supplement.

Another one:

Lucky, our 9 year old shep mix has been on the Agility now for about a month. Lucky was starting to have a difficult time getting on and off from the sofa and he was uncomfortable climbing stairs. Lucky now takes the stairs two at time and he is able to get on and off of the sofa and the bed with ease. Lucky improves everyday since taking the Agility Supplement.

  4. I have been using Zrii for 5 months now and have had such fantastic results. Inflammation in joints are gone, a wonderful feeling of wellbeing, more energy. My son is no longer an enraged, disturbed and depressed young man, he is smiling again, as is our whole family now. This is based on Ayurveda and has been endorsed by none other than the Chopra Center for Wellness (Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon).

My question is: Since the main ingredient is Amalaki fruit, the rest is herbal and root. Would the Amalaki fruit be safe for animals? I am especially wondering about my cats because I know how different their system is from ours. You can look up the ingredients on my site, then look up the studies done on http://www.pubmed.gov.

Please let me know if you are interested in Zrii to try. I Do have one of my friends who gives it to her dog mixed in Yogurt and she is doing well. You can go to http://www.cherie.myzrii.com to order.

I am going to start giving fish oil to my animals per your suggestion.
